Branches (formerly South Florida Urban Ministries) is a dynamic non-profit organization that empowers people to move from poverty to prosperity through holistic youth development, small business development and hunger relief ministries in South Florida. Since 1973, South Florida Urban Ministries (now known as Branches) has partnered with community-based organizations, corporations and congregations to develop ministries of compassion and justice, as the urban ministry and social justice agency of the Florida Southeast District of the United Methodist Church. On an annual basis our professionals and volunteer mentors serve more than 500 students, our food pantries reach more than 11,000 people and our economic development services educate hundreds.
